Welcome to the Bayang-Mbo Wildlife Sanctuary, a haven for biodiversity in the northwestern part of the Lower Guinea forest, one of the world's richest lowland rainforests. Established by prime ministerial decree on March 12, 1996, our sanctuary spans 66,220 hectares and is dedicated to the protection of large mammals, rare plant species, and a myriad of bird species. We are committed to preserving the ecological balance and ensuring sustainable livelihoods for local communities through conservation and ecotourism.

The Banyang Mbo Wildlife Sanctuary (BMWS) was created by a Prime Ministerial Decree n° 96/119 of 12th March 1996 and covers a total surface of 66,220 hectares that cuts across two divisions (Kupe Muanenguba and Manyu) and three subdivisions (Upper Banyang, Bangem and Nguti sub divisions)
